GW Experience
Explore your passions, champion your causes, develop your talents and build a better future:
this is how we Raise High at GW.
GW Experience
When you live in Washington, D.C., you’ll watch world leaders debate, become a champion for the causes you care about and participate in events on the national and international stage. You’ll also take midnight walks to the monuments, watch our athletics teams play, discover your new favorite band, join an acapella group or learn that you love Thai food.
At GW, the city is a part of our campus and adds to your Buff and Blue experience. As a GW student you'll make D.C. your own, and motivate others to do the same. Both on campus and across D.C., you'll drive change and pursue your interests passionately. Whether on Foggy Bottom or The Vern or down Pennsylvania Avenue, life at GW is as rich and diverse as the city we call home.
“When I visited GW as a prospective student, I remembered that there was such a strong sense of pride that all of the students had. Now that I am a student here, I share that pride. The student community is so diverse and you can really find your niche—there is something for everyone.“

Your Life at GW
A Global Campus
The George Washington University is a hub of learning that stretches well beyond its immediate borders. GW students and faculty members are deeply engaged in the quest to understand our world and solve some of its greatest challenges. Our vibrant global network of institutional partners, as well as world-class research institutes right on campus, ensure that GW’s reach is broad, deep, and meaningful.
Support for Our Students
Every GW student is unique—where you come from, what you’ve experienced or how you spend your time. We know that everyone has different needs to succeed. That’s why we do everything we can to support students of every background. From disability support to career counseling, military and veteran services to multicultural groups, we have resources and opportunities for each student to thrive.
