Bruno Fernandes, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Bruno Fernandes is an accomplished finance executive with more than two decades of experience, including in financial operations management and planning, treasury operations, and asset management and capital structure. As Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Bruno oversees the university’s financial and treasury operations to ensure they support GW’s mission. Areas reporting to Bruno include medical enterprise finance, university controller, Procure to Pay, treasury management, business services, real estate, risk management and insurance, budget and financial analysis, and finance and administration for schools and divisions.
Bruno has experience in multiple industries, from corporations to government and nonprofits. Bruno has served GW since April 2021 and was previously Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. Prior to this, he was Treasurer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia. He is a long-time resident of the DMV, and he received his B.S. in Finance from George Mason University and M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
