Doctoral Programs
Although, the Asian Studies program does not offer a doctoral degree, there are many opportunities for Asia related Ph.D. study, all of which leverage the University's great strengths in a variety of disciplines. For students who desire to pursue a Ph.D. on Asian topics, the Department of Political Science and the Department of History both have substantial expertise on the region and provide excellent support for those interested in pursuing Asian Studies at the doctoral level. Students are encouraged to contact these departments directly for further information. Although the Department of Economics does not train area specialists, students who want to pursue research and study involving the Asia Pacific are encouraged to contact that department as well.
