Visiting Scholar Roundtable: Studies on the Development of Regional Production Networks in East Asia and China's Status

During the process of deepening manufacturing sharing, China serves as an essential export platform for firms headquartered in the more advanced economies and plays a pivotal role as the premier center of final assembly. Sigur Center Visiting Scholar Xinxuan Cheng will examine the reasons for the establishment of East Asian production networks. Her research puts forward some policy implications for the development strategies in China that are meant tp improve the running efficiency of East Asian production networks.
Xinxuan Cheng is the Director of the Institute for Regional Economic Cooperation and EU Studies at Hebei University, China (P.R.C.) as well professor in the Department of Public Finance, School of Management. In 2011 she was named "Outstanding Female" by the Women's Federation of Hebei Province. Professor Cheng received her doctoral degree in 2002 from the Department of International Economics, Nankai University, China (P.R.C.) .
