POSCO TJ Park Foundation NGO Fellowship Program

The 2008-2009 POSCO TJ Park Foundation NGO Fellowship application period is now closed. If you have any questions regarding this program, please click here.

The Sigur Center is proud to announce its participation in an exciting new program: bringing members of South Korean non governmental organizations (NGOs) to the United States for research and study as fellows. The $2 million program, co-ordinated by Stanford University, involves four other leading North American universities. It is possible thanks to the generous support of the POSCO TJ Park Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1971 by Tae Joon Park to contribute to Korean and Asian development in a spirit of social responsibility.

The POSCO TJ Park Foundation Fellowship Program aims to increase the interaction between members of the American and Korean NGO communities. GWU forms part of a consortium that includes Stanford, Columbia University , Indiana University, and the University of British Columbia. Each university will host two fellows each year for five years starting September 2006. The member universities will also hold an annual conference to highlight the scholars’ research.
