PCS primarily exists to enlighten and educate members about the Filipino and Filipino American culture by serving as a medium in which they are able to interact with each other through a cultural bond. Secondly, through an active presence on campus and in the community, PCS aspires to familiarize and educate others about the Philippine culture and about what it means to be a Filipino in America. Thirdly, PCS exists to provide services and support to the campus and the surrounding communities.

[Upcoming CULTURE SHOW Practices]

[4/23/2005] TANDAAN V: "Sinigang for the Soul"

The 5th annual PCS Culture Show, Tandaan V. The tagalong word, “tandaan,” means “to remember,” and this year’s show, like the previous years features many traditional Filipino dances along with a modern piece as we remember the rich history and culture of the Philippines. Through the various dance suites, you can learn about Filipino culture, both past and present.

Tandaan V will also exhibit PCS’s theatrical talents as they put on the part comedy, part drama, “Sinigang for the Soul.” Though the title is somewhat modeled after the successful book series “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” the play prides itself from its originality, strength of characters, and underlying theme. At the forefront of this story is the family coming together and, as the family members recall past memories, they realize just how important their family means to them.
