Amb. Karl "Rick" Inderfurth  
Professor of Practice of International Affairs

Amb. Inderfurth received his M.A. in Political Science from Princeton University in 1975. Amb. Inderfurth has served in several capacities at the US Department of State, including Deputy US Representative to the UN Security Council, US Representative for Special Political Affairs to the UN, and as Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs.

Quadir Amiryar
Adjunct Professor of Political Science

Professor Amiryar was raised in Kabul, Afghanistan where, in 1964, he helped create the country's first democratic constitution. He is an expert on politics and government of the Middle East and South Asia; Islamic politics and international relations. Professor Amiryar has also served on the Board of Directors for Cyprus Peace Movement for Afghanistan; was a founding member of the Central Asia Research & Development Center; and was a legal consultant for the drafting of the Constitution of Tajikistan. As a professor at Kabul University, Amiryar helped create a high school basketball league in Afghanistan.
