About ASI
Since 1962, American Studies International has served as a forum
for the exchange of ideas and information about the study of the
United States by scholars throughout the world. Initially supported
financially by the United States Information Agency, ASI has been
totally independent since 1982, sustained only by subscriptions,
advertising, and two small grants from the MARPAT Foundation.
ASI publishes scholarly articles, bibliographical essays, book reviews,
and announcements of conferences and programs. It is indexed in
"Recent Scholarship" in the Journal of American History, and by
the American Humanities Index, American History & Life, the MLA,
ABC-CLIO, UMI, and the Book Review Index.
Beginning with the 2005 volume year ASI has been absorbed by American
Studies, a journal published by the University of Kansas.
