Education

-Licenciatura in Biological Sciences. Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Argentina. April 2001. Degree thesis on Spiders Systematics and Morphology.

-PhD Student, The George Washington University (GWU), Department of Biological Sciences, Washington, D.C., started on Fall 2002. Advisor: Dr. Gustavo Hormiga

-Ad-Honorem collaborator, Division of Arachnology, Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales "Bernardino Rivadavia", Buenos Aires, Argentina. With Martín J. Ramírez and Cristina L. Scioscia. Since January 1998.

Research Interests

My main interests are systematics, biology and evolution of spiders, particularly the minute mysmenids and other symphytognathoids. I'm also interested in basal araneomorphs web building behavior, and biodiversity of spiders in Argentina.

Current Research

The main goal of my PhD project is to build a robust and stable phylogenetic hypothesis of mysmenid relationships to serve as the basis for a classification of Mysmenidae and to provide the comparative basis for a better understanding of the evolution of web architecture and kleptoparasitism within this family and its close relatives, and I'm also part of a project in arachnid biodiversity of the Misiones Province, in Argentina.
