Professor Bhala served as a consultant to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and was a delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. His specialties include international law, international trade law and comparative law.

Sean Murphy
Associate Professor of Law

Professor Murphy formerly served as legal counselor at the U.S. Embassy in The Hague, arguing several cases before the International Court of Justice and representing the U.S. government in matters before the International Criminal Tribunal. He also served as an agent to the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal, arguing cases on behalf of the U.S. government and providing advice to American citizens appearing before that tribunal.

Ralph G. Steinhardt
Professor of Law and International Affairs

Professor Steinhardt has written articles on the application of international law in U.S. courts, statutory construction, international trade law, property law, and human rights. He also served as counsel to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Human Rights Law Group, as well as to individuals alleging violations of international human rights law.
