The Inaugural Parade of FDR, 1941.

The artist based his image on a rare cache of photos in the Evening Star archives in the Washingtonian Division of the D.C. Public Library, some of which were never published. This is the most celebrated of Wright's historical paintings and has been reproduced in the New York Times, the cover of the Wilson Quarterly, the Smithsonian book on Washington D.C. and several other publications. It was the introductory painting of the Library of Congress exhibition celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Nation's Capital: "City of Magnificent Distances."
