Senate Resolution on a title for the President,

The Senate agreed to the committee report, but eventually the
opposition of the House of Representatives to all titles forced the Senate to resolve,
while expressing its objections, to accept the "President of the United
States, without addition of title."
Rep. Lambert Cadwalader of New Jersey reported that "The
Lovers of Fringe and Embroidery have, however, been defeated and a Taste for Simplicity
