E&EM Masters Student Dan Somma Appointed to Municipal Advisory Committee
On September 25, 2007, the election of Dan Somma, expected 2008 E&EM M.S. graduate, was confirmed by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett for a three-year term on the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee (WUDAC), Wheaton, MD. Dan ran for the open resident seat and was selected by a panel of current members and county representatives.
The WUDAC was established in 1996 to advise Montgomery County on
public services and amenities needed for the functioning of the urban
district. The WUDAC is involved with maintaining streetscape, protecting
public rights-of-way, improving street safety, increasing accessibility
of the urban district to foot traffic, addressing parking/public transportation
concerns and reviewing capital projects that promote the economic
stability of the urban district.
