Lerner Family Adds Name
to Health and Wellness Center
In recognition of a $5-million gift from the Annette
and Theodore Lerner Family, GW has named the Health and Wellness Center
in their honor. The Annette and Theodore Lerner Family Health and Wellness
Center stands as another symbol of the familys generosity through
the years, says University President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg.
Theodore Lerner, a GW graduate and member of the Board
of Trustees, is a successful real-estate entrepreneur in the Washington
metropolitan area. His accomplishments include Wheaton Plaza and White
Flint malls in Maryland and Tysons Corner Center and Dulles Town Center
in Virginia. He now serves as principal of Lerner Enterprises, which
is responsible for leasing and managing millions of square feet of residential
and commercial space in the metropolitan area.
As a GW graduate, I am proud to give some of
my good fortune back to the University and the community, Lerner
says. Many lucky things have happened to me. GW helped me be ready
for that luck.
The newly named center will host an open house through
Jan. 18 for all current faculty, staff, and student GWorld cardholders
to explore membership opportunities.
