Kalb Report Hosts New York Times
Editor
Bill Keller, executive editor of The New York Times, is
slated to be the guest on The Kalb Report Feb. 9 beginning
at 8 pm at the National Press Club. Free tickets to this event are available
at the Marvin Center TicketMaster.
Keller was named executive editor of The New York Times in July.
Previously he had served as a columnist and senior writer for The New
York Times Magazine as well as other areas of the newspaper since
September 2001. Before that, he served as managing editor for five years
after having been the newspapers foreign editor for two years. Keller
also worked as a correspondent in Moscow, where he won a Pulitzer Prize
for his coverage of the Soviet Union.
The Kalb Report is co-sponsored by The George Washington University
School of Media and Public Affairs, The Joan Shorenstein Center on Press,
Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University and the National Press
Club. The partnership has produced 36 programs in the The Kalb
Report series since 1994. Forums have covered issues at the
intersection of public policy and the press, including ethics in journalism,
talk show democracy and covering the private lives of public officials.
The Feb. 9 forum is funded by a grant from The Ethics and Excellence in
Journalism Foundation.
