4th Annual Women and Philanthropy Forum

GW’s Women and Philanthropy Forum explores the critically important role that women are playing in enhancing human welfare through their visionary philanthropy.  The Forum’s goal is to encourage women’s worldwide and lifelong engagement with philanthropy.

At the fourth annual event held on May 9, 2012, Susan G. Komen for the Cure founder and CEO Nancy Brinker delivered a keynote speech highlighting the ways that women can drive change and success in philanthropy.

The forum also included a panel discussion with prominent female philanthropic leaders, Cynthia Steele Vance, MVC  BA ’79, a broadcast journalist and member of GW’s board of trustees; Madeleine Jacobs, CCAS BS '68, HON DSc '03, executive director of the American Chemical Society; and Mahsa Pelosky. Other speakers included Nicky Goren, president and CEO of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation, and Sherri Rose, CCAS BS ‘05 and winner of the GW Alumni Association’s 2011 Recent Alumni Achievement Award.
