Election 2012 at George Washington University

Election night at George Washington University is best described by our students. As one student put it on Twitter, "Being in DC on Election Day is like being a kid on Christmas! #onlyatGW." That enthusiasm is why we're regularly named the nation's most politically active school. As many of our students vote for the first time and watch the election results just blocks from the White House, we want to bring the Election Night at GW experience to our entire GW community.

That's why we'll be using this page to live stream and live-tweet the entire night. Join in the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag — #GWElectionDay

GW Making History

GW is Making History

The university has launched a new campaign, GW Making History, to demonstrate how members of its community have made an impact on the world using the knowledge and relationships developed while at George Washington.  The heart of the campaign is a microsite that features stories of the GW community and how they have made history in big and small ways.  You can submit your own stories via YouTubeFlickror record your stories in our mobile television studio that will be at various sites at GW’s three campuses this fall.

Learn how you can submit your story and share how GW has helped you to make history.

GW Basketball 2012-13 Season Tickets On Sale Now

The season-ticket holder renewal period for George Washington men's and women's basketball is underway. Renewal applications will be mailed the week of July 23 and fans will have until Friday, August 24 to guarantee their seats. New season-ticket holder applications are also currently being accepted.

Tickets for men's games will include an exhibition game plus all 14 regular-season home contests at the Charles E. Smith Center, highlighted by a visit from Big 12 foe Kansas State on Dec. 8 and a date with Atlantic 10 newcomer Butler once conference play begins in January.

Along with season tickets being available for 15 men's home dates, season seats for the GW women's basketball team under new head coach Jonathan Tsipis are now available. Coach Tsipis, who comes to Foggy Bottom off of back-to-back national championship game appearances as associate head coach at Notre Dame, was hired in April and his team's 2012-13 schedule will be announced later this summer.

For questions on renewals, upgrades, or to become a new season ticket holder, please call the GW Athletics Ticket Office at 202-994-7325 or email Director of Ticket Sales Shelli Anderson at seanderson@gwu.edu.
