Originally from Idaho, Dr. Andrew Jared Critchfield is especially interested in the impact of organizational culture and personal identity - especially those marginalized due to hegemonic structures - upon organizational success and effectiveness; and the effects of policy and “rules” on custom and culture. He has presented his research at annual meetings of the International, National, and Eastern Communication associations and at conferences in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Critchfield has received research grants from The Tokyo Foundation's Joint Initiative Proposals Fund and the Sigur Center for Asian Studies. He worked for extended periods in China and Mongolia and on Taiwan and Japan. Dr. Critchfield was a Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellow at Howard University where he earned his Ph.D. in Intercultural and Organizational Communication. He earned his M.S. in Corporate Communication from Ithaca College and his B.S. in Communication from Lewis-Clark State.
