The following programs are offered to students seeking advanced education in the healthcare field. The School of Public Health and Health Services, along with the Wertlieb Institute, offers courses that can be taken to specialize these degrees in long term care administration.

Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA)
GW is one of the few universities in the U.S. that offers a fully accredited health administration masters degree program. The MHSA program consists of 48-credit hours of coursework, including the choice of specialization that focuses on the student ?s primary area of interest. It offers a background in general health administration coupled with courses designed to develop expertise in one of the major areas of Health Systems Management or Health Policy, such as hospital or long term care administration or managed care. Administrative residencies (Administrator in Training) and internships are an integral part of the program, providing students with practical on-the-job training and experience. Masters of Public Health - Administrative Medicine Track (MPH)
The MPH degree program consists of 36 credit hours of course work 16-18 credit hours of required core course work and 20 hours of specialty course work. Each track provides a sophisticated, coordinated curriculum that emphasizes the development and application of professional skills. All courses are scheduled to meet the programmatic needs of both full- and part-time students. Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Health Services Administration (MBA)
Through its department of Health Services Management and Policy, the SPHHS offers a collaborative degree with the School of Business and Public Management (SBPM). Students may earn an MBA from the SBPM with a Health Services Administration concentration offered by the SPHHS. In this concentration, students may select from specialty tracks in long term care or acute and ambulatory care. Doctor of Public Health (DrPH)
The DrPH is an applied research degree that allows those with either a clinical or an administrative background to focus on key management and financing issues in long term care. Coursework in this 72-credit-hour program includes research methods; a field of study in either health systems, health policy, or health behavior; and a series of seminars. Dissertation research may be conducted within various GW Research Centers and Institutes as well as in other University and Washington-area settings. Health Services Administration Specialist
Students with a master's degree in an approved or related field, or with a master's degree and managerial experience, may undertake studies leading to the degree of Specialist in Health Services Administration. This program serves individuals who plan to build upon prior experience, or begin a career in management, policy making, or planning in the field of health services, or who wish to supplement previous graduate study in health services administration.
