The Office of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel is committed to providing high quality legal services, ensuring knowledge of the law, and protecting and advocating for GW in support of the university's teaching and research mission, while minimizing risks and costs to the university.

As chief legal officer for the university, the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, with her staff, provides, coordinates and directs all legal services for GW, including those furnished by outside counsel, to ensure the highest standards for our community. We provide legal counsel, preventive legal guidance, and services to help our clients fulfill their missions and meet their goals.
