  1. Listen for a burst tone or the call waiting tone
  2. Depress the switch-hook momentarily, release, then listen for the dial tone
  3. Press the "*" key and then the "4" key
  4. The first call will be on a temporary hold.
For Cordless Phone Users: Substitute the "flash" button for the "switch-hook"

Retrieving the First Call on Hold
  1. Depress the switch-hook momentarily, release, and then listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press the "*" key and then the "4" key
  3. If the first call is not retrieved and is still on-line, then the telephone system will ring back your line as if you were receiving a normal phone call
For Cordless Phone Users: Substitute the "flash" button for the "switch-hook"

The University does not guarantee that a non-university telephone will work with our system. If your telephone does not work properly, go to your Community Facilitator (CF) and they will provide you with a University Telephone.
