Description of Departmental & Student Org Accounts
GWMail (email) Accounts
Departments, University Programs, Student Clubs and Organizations may apply for email accounts.
*Departments and Programs You may fax them to (202) 994-0101. These email accounts have a hard quota of
50 MB (the alloted amount of disk space on the GWMail system), which means that the account not be able to send or
receive email once it exceeds this limit. We strongly suggest you read the quota FAQs.
Accounts are created within two business days, after IT Services receives your application. **Student Clubs and Organizations must submit their applications to the Student Activities Office in room 427 of the Marvin Center. Once the application is approved, Student Activities will then forward the email account request to IT Services. University departments and programs may request accounts on GW's main web server, www.gwu.edu. To apply for an account, complete the Online Account Request Form. Please note that a prior knowledge of HTML and web design is necessary in order to make use of an account on the WWW server. Student organizations that are currently registered with the GW Student Activities Center may request an account on www.gwu.edu or studentorgs.gwu.edu. WWW accounts require knowledge of HTML and web design. Accounts on studentorgs.gwu.edu use the Merlin Content Management System and do not require any technical experience. To request a WWW account, complete the Online Account Request Form. To request an account on studentorgs.gwu.edu, visit the Merlin web site.
