Michael Schmid

After completing the Graduate USFPI program in 2004, Michael was a Missouri Delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, MA, and a member of the Kerry Campaign's Young Voter Steering Committee in Missouri. He recently finished a rather extensive research project for Senator Kerry assessing: candidate and party performance in 2004; current voter attitudes toward public issues; and current voter attitudes toward potential candidates for president in 2008. For this project he surveyed and consulted with more than 1,400 people in seven key primary and electoral states in the Midwest -- IA, IL, IN, KS, MO, OH, and Western PA.

Michael has also worked for former UN Ambassador, former Special Envoy to the Sudan, and retired Missouri Senator John Danforth, when he was Special Counsel at the US Department of Justice from 1999-2001.

Currently, he is in the dissertation phase of completing a Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis and Administration at Saint Louis University (SLU). He is a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, and lives in Saint Louis, Missouri.
