Alumni: Get Active in the School

There are many ways TSPPPA alumni can get involved with the school.

Connect with Students
The TSPPPA Career Central system has a Networking Directory that allows students and alumni to publish voluntarily their contact and employment information.  Students can use this tool to find alumni in their field of interest.  If you would like your contact information posted to the Networking Directory, simply edit your profile at www.tspppacareer.com.

Networking Opportunities
Career Development Services (CDS) hosts several receptions and events throughout the year that alumni are invited to.  Each spring, CDS hosts an Alumni-Student Networking Reception at the culmination of Networking Week, a week of networking and professional development activities.  Watch your email for invitations!

Job Shadow Program
Each February or April, Career Development Services organizes Networking Week, a week of professional development events for TSPPPA students.  The centerpiece of Networking Week is the Job Shadow Program, where CDS connects current students with alumni working in their field of interest.  The job shadow can be anything from a half-day visit to the alumnus’s office to coffee or a phone conversation—it’s up to you.  Watch your email around January of each year for information on how to get involved.

Career Panels and Other Events
Career Development Services regularly hosts panels of TSPPPA alumni working in a given field or industry.  These panels provide an opportunity for students to connect with alumni and to get a feel for what it is like to work in a particular career field.  Email Paul Binkley at spppajob@gwu.edu if you are interested in sitting on one of these panels.
