Other Programs:

Teams Directory: Part of the Maize Pages, this directory lists or will list contact information for all current or potential active teams as well as their team web pages. Courtesy of the University of Michigan. If you want something that loads more quickly and has less detail, use this directory, courtesy of Kristin Hamlin at Denison College.

Links To Organizations:

College Bowl Online
The official website of College Bowl Company , Inc. (known to us as simply "CBI" or "CBCI.") Contains some info about 1999's National Championship Tournament, which we attended, and other miscellaneous contact info about College Bowl.

NAQT Official Website
This is the large, informative website of National Academic Quiz Tournaments, LLC (known to us as NAQT) - it has info about all past NAQT tournaments as well as its plans for this year, including some info on its Intercollegiate Championship, which we attended.

ACF Official Website
This is the website of the Academic Competition Federation. It speaks volumes for itself despite the long time lapse since its last update.

General Links:

College Quiz Bowl Tournament Infocenter
This site, maintained by Jason Paik of Washington University, contains the most current list of upcoming college tournaments across the country, as well as links to results and statistics where available.

The Maize Pages
This page, based at Michigan, purports to be the "portal for all your academic competition needs." If you need to know something about the world of academic competition, and can't find it on this page, you should be able to find it there.

Yahoo! Quizbowl Club
eGroups Quizbowl Chat Group
The quizbowl circuit has clubs set up on Yahoo network and on eGroups. Some of us at GW are members. Check them out, but beware, the Yahoo chatroom in particular can be a major time suck.

Question Packet Archive
Questions from years' past that can be used to practice on. Public humiliation will ensue should you attempt to re-submit questions from this archive at tournaments.

Tournament Results Archive
Coutresy of Cal-Berkeley, this site is just what the name suggests.

General Internet Resources
If you're looking for something, and we don't have a link to it here but it's out there, this list courtesy of Case Western is a good place to hunt.

Frequency Of Titles Database
As close as you're going to come to a list of things you need to have at least heard of to succeed at this game, at least for the categories it happens to cover.

Quiz Bowl Website
Here you will find a lot of generalized resources and links that are helpful for circuit teams and players, including a chat board. If you want to learn the history of the quizbowl circuit or circuit procedures or other general information beyond what you can find on our site, this UMBC-based site is also a good place to start. (Note : This site is currently down.)

Quizzer Game
Designed to simulate actual (all-tossup) quiz circuit play, this is a way either to test your knowledge or to learn some standard clues.

Question Writing Resources
When this page is done, it will contain links that will help with research for question writing.

Quiz Bowl Basics
Even more useful information about the game that is not found elsewhere on this site. Written by George Atendido and now maintained by the GW Academic Competition Club. This should ideally be frequently updated now that it is in HTML form, but in fact hasn't been updated in quite some time.

Tournament Central
Listings of all college-level tournaments, regardless of format or location. Very useful for planning a tournament schedule.

alt.college.college-bowl
The home USENET newsgroup of the academic competition community, but don't expect to find anything of use there. Some of the garbage you're more likely to find there is partially explained here.

rec.games.trivia
Here you'll find trivia contests, lyrics quizzes, and puzzles. There are circuit regulars reading and posting to this newsgroup too.
