www.gwu.edu/~liquid
liquid@gwu.edu
Categories: Performing Arts, Special Interest
Mission: "Art is never decoration, embellishment; instead, it is work of enlightenment. Art, in other words, is a technique for acquiring liberty" (Bruce Lee). Liquid Arts is a multicultural student organization that was founded in the wake of this demand for and appreciation of hip-hop and urban culture among the students of this University. Liquid Arts provides a medium through which students can experience, perform, witness, and learn about the very essence of urban culture. At the epicenter of the culture that Liquid Arts advocates is the genre of hip-hop. Hip-hop reflects an urban aesthetic, a style and an attitude espousing freedom of expression. Its appeal has cut across class and racial lines to be embraced by everyone. Thus does Liquid Arts surpass the boundaries of sex, nationality, ignorance and gravity to unite the student population of this University. Redefine Self… Defy Gravity... Master the Arts… LIQUID ARTS
