Accelerated Placement
15 credit accelerated placement for high level work is possible through
three courses:
- Review: Performance
- Review-Choreography/Creativity
- Review-Artistic Initiatives
These courses abide by a strict rubric to assess the Portfolio-I, II and
III courses. A committee of three faculty members and one outside professional
administer this portfolio review process designed to assist students with
tracking their growth and placement level. The outside adjudicator is
from a nationally/internationally-based dance organization such as the
Kennedy Center and the National Endowment for the Arts. These courses
assess student progress through a strict measurement of milestones via
a rubric based portfolio review. The three areas assessed:
- Performance
- Choreography/Creativity
- Artistic Initiatives
Portfolio and Review are variable credit courses not to be taken for
more than a combined credit hour total of 5 per semester offered.
