MFA Dance

Application Process

Application Deadline: February 15 (international students), March 1, 2013 (national students)

Prerequisites: The admissions process is competitive. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major in dance, and 10 years professional dance experience as a creative performing artist or choreographer recognized in major publications and/or press.

Fellowships: Limited fellowships available for incoming applicants of excellence. Fellowship recipients are chosen based on panel review of portfolios. All interested applicants are considered.

Application requirements:

  • An application form
  • Official transcripts of academic work
  • DVD of selected works (45 minutes maximum)
  • Three current letters of recommendation
  • Resume of experience
  • Artist’s statement including interest in research/creative focus
  • Application for tuition fellowship financial assistance

International Applicants: Applications from the international dance community are encouraged The University. as well as its institutional affiliates, greatly value contributions that are made to the program by students from other countries whose native language is not English and who bring a culturally diverse perspective to its program. These applicants should submit proof of English proficiency.
