I finished up my masters in performance studies at NYU about a year ago, and am now writing a book on hip-hop theatre.”

Now I'm writing my thesis on movement in the classroom entitled, "Sacred Movement: Connecting Children with the Divine Aspect of Their Bodies". I'm also working as a Teacher's Assistant at a wonderful Waldorf school in Western Massachusetts- the Hartsbrook School in Hadley, MA. I've continued dancing since graduation: performing, teaching workshops, choreographing and producing performances- in both the United States and India.”

Brett Shingledecker writes:  I had the great pleasure of performing in numerous shows in the mid-80’s, including MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, WOMEN IN POWER, THE CAVE DWELLERS and two lively Gilbert and Sullivan productions—THE SORCERER and THE GONDOLIERS at the Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre.  After 20+ years in Chicago and New Orleans, I returned to my hometown of Lima, OH post-Katrina to care for my elderly grandparents.  Although I had not performed since my GW days, I have become involved at the local community theater here, playing Sidney Bruhl in DEATHTRAP and the title role in THE FOREIGNER in the 2006 season at Encore Theatre.  I have just ended a run as Judge Brack in HEDDA GABLER at The Ohio State University/Lima campus last Sunday.  I’m also happy to report that I have taken on a new role as Executive Director of ArtSpace/Lima, a not-for-profit arts organization housed in an historic building on the town square whose purpose is to promote the arts in NW Ohio.  I would love to hear from my fellow actors during the mid-80’s.  You can reach me at bretts@wcoil.com.  Cheers!
