As a starting place for finding many of the online resources available at GWU, the University's Home Page is a valuable resource for students. The University's Home Page is grouped into eleven categories of services, including Learning, Living, Computing, Working, Finding Information, and more. You can access a variety of menu options by clicking on any of these eleven links.

The myGW Page

  • Want to customize a page so you can quickly find you favorite GWU links?
  • Looking for information on what is happening the local community?
  • Want links to the online resources most used by GWU students?

The myGW site is designed for students and offers quick links to many of the resources that they will require; such as Student Services, Blackboard. Course Registration, Gelman Library, Schedule of Classes, and many other important online resources for current students. In addition, myGW offers links to variety of local resources in the Washington DC area (e.g., movie theatres, restaurant reviews, local weather, Webcams). The myGW site can also be customized by individual students to have highlight the links that they find most useful.

Blackboard

  • Looking for the email addresses of team members for a class assignment?
  • Wondering where to go to see the class syllabus?
  • Want to have a "live' chat with your classmates?

All courses at the University have accompanying access to the Blackboard learning system. Many of your professors will use Blackboard to post course announcements, facilitate class discussions, share online articles, post the course syllabus, submit class assignments, hold "live" chats, and expand your learning opportunities beyond the boundaries of the traditional classroom.

Library Resources

  • Want to know where to find your books before you to the library?
  • Searching for information to use in your term paper?

The GWU Libraries offer students a variety of on-campus and online resources that can be accessed through their Website. From their Website you can locate books and journals included in the on-campus selection, and you can search the database of resources available to GWU students through the Washington Regional Library Consortium's (WRLC) ALADIN. Here you can access online full-text online journal articles or request books from other local libraries including American University, Catholic University, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, Georgetown University, Marymount University, University of D.C., and Trinity College.
