Welcome to the Procurement Department Matt Johnson
The Procurement Department is responsible for the University’s procurement of goods and services.  We accomplish this by offering multiple methods of purchasing items via iBuy, Oracle requisitions, or use of a P-Card; combined with the physical handling and delivery of certain centrally stocked goods and materials. Our goal is to serve the faculty and staff by facilitating the timely acquisition of goods and services meeting the needs of GW at a competitive price, and justifying the supplier selection and pricing to meet GW policies and the requirements of external auditors.

Our Mission
The mission of the Procurement Department is to provide timely and professional customer service across the GW community. Procurement is comprised of three functional groups that operate together with a single set of technical and support resources. Purchasing is based in Ashburn and supports the processes of buying goods and services as requested by end users using the iBuy or Oracle systems. P-Card is also based in Ashburn and supports the processes of obtaining and using a purchasing card (P-Card), and provide the necessary management controls for P-Card users. Materials Management is based in Foggy Bottom and supports the centralized delivery and receipt of goods at the receiving locations of Ross Hall, F Street Support Building, and GW’s remote warehouse in Landover MD.  Procurement works closely with many groups, including Accounts Payable and Financial Systems Support, in order to help our customers meet their needs.
