What Makes Us Unique?

The graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology has come to be considered among the finest in the country with a U.S. News and Business Report ranking of 38th out of 230 graduate programs nationwide. The graduate program maintains accreditation by the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Numbered among the program's alumni are hundreds of speech-language pathologists of exceptional talent and expertise. Our graduates include many directors of Speech-Language Pathology services in medical centers, rehabilitation facilities, public and private schools, and private practices. We take great pride in our many alumni who have distinguished themselves as educators, clinicians, researchers, and leaders of our profession. Our recent students continue to add to this tradition being awarded prestigious scholarships clinical fellowships.

In addition to the strength of our academic and clinical program, our location in Washington, D.C., provides an opportunity to live in the nation's capital, with its rich cultural resources, diversity, and beauty. The Washington, D.C., area provides our students with top externship placements including nationally renowned hospitals and clinics and public school systems among the top ten in the country.
