Transportation

Summer Scholars are not permitted to bring cars. Transportation between campuses is provided by The Vern Express shuttle service that operates daily through the early evening hours. MetroBus stops are within a few short blocks of the Mount Vernon campus. The Metro is the most popular mode of transportation around the city, providing easy-to-use, inexpensive, and convenient access to major destinations in the city. In fact, the GW Foggy Bottom campus has its own stop on the Metro!

However, much of what you will want to do is within a short walking distance of the Foggy Bottom campus, including the restaurants, eateries, and shops of Georgetown. In addition, the Mount Vernon campus is a mere 10-minute walk to MacArthur Boulevard and its restaurants, shops, supermarket, and pharmacy.
