10-Day Mini-Courses

For Current 9th - 11th Graders
Program Dates: June 22 - July 2, 2008

Enrolling an average of 25 students, 10-day mini-courses are open to mature, academically motivated students in grades 9, 10, and 11. These nongraded, noncredit seminars are highly experiential, interactive seminars that engage students in academic investigation, applied learning, and contextual exploration of intellectual topics. Small group instruction allows participants to actively engage in class discussions and instructive exercises. Lectures, discussions, field exercises, and seminars by visiting experts are supplemented by visits to course-related sites around Washington, DC. Evening activities may include course-related or recreational activities. Enrollment is limited and courses fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Courses are taught by GW faculty or instructors who are expert practitioners in their fields.
