Background
Gary Hawke began his career as a television associate director at KTTV in Los Angeles, CA. While at KTTV he became a producer and director of news, sports and special events, and studio talk and variety shows. He was awarded the Los Angeles Mayors Certificate for Excellence for his series "Focus"; examining the work of community organizations in impoverished neighborhoods. Mr. Hawke later became a radio sales executive and sales manager of KRTH in Los Angeles.

Mr. Hawke purchased a small radio station in Northern Calidfornia and built his company into a four-station group. In 1994, he sold the stations and began as a lecutrer in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communicationas at the University of Kansas. He also served as the General Manager for the campus radio station, KJHK, and later became the first General Manager of KU's television station, KUJH.

Mr. Hawke managed the student team that created the first live, continuous, programming of a radio station on the Internet in 1994. In 1996, the same team created the first live streaming of a television sports event over the Internet. He is currently the Digital Media Instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools at Monrow Technology Center.
