I am delighted you have decided to take a look at the Semester in Washington Journalism Program. The George Washington University designed this exciting new course in direct response to the rapid and dramatic changes reshaping journalism and the media today. With the proverbial “goal posts" of journalism moving so rapidly there is no better way to understand what is happening than to experience it first hand and no better place to do that than in the nation’s capital.

Consider this program as your semester abroad at home.

There are other experiential courses of this type, but none that combines the amount of professional experience with the level and quality of academics you expect from GW’s world-renowned School of Media and Public Affairs. And all located in the very heart of Washington DC just blocks from the White House.

When you head back to your campus I guarantee you will view the media differently, understand how the game of power is played in Washington, and with sharpened writing, production, and journalistic skills.
