Internships
The Semester In Washington staff works directly with each
SIW student to identify professional objectives and offer
extensive resources to assist students in securing rewarding
internships. While the program does not require an internship,
many students are interested in that type of Washington experience,
and SIW will help students make it a worthwhile endeavor.
Academic credit is available for students who would like to
take that option.
Interns can choose to work on Capitol Hill, in the White
House, at associations or lobbying firms, public interest
organizations, public opinion research organizations, media
consulting firms, or news organizations.
Students may intern for academic credit, for pay, or just
for valuable professional experience. The compensation for
any given internship is determined by the preferences of the
organization and the student involved.
Once you have been admitted to the Semester In Washington,
you will be able to access our online database of over 470
