Program Committee Minutes
June 15, 2002

Present: Jared Ingersoll (Columbia), Mariya Barash (Wayne State), Tatiana Barr (Florida), Mischa Buczkowski (Oregon), Jackie Byrd (Indiana), Marta Deyrup (Seton Hall), Inna Gudanets (Stanford), Soobum Kim (Stanford), Sandra Levy (Chicago), Terri Miller (Michigan State), Janice Pilch (Illinois), Kay Sinnema (Duke)

Minutes: The minutes of the January 2002 meeting were approved.

Program for Toronto, 2003, conference: Jared Ingersoll reported that he has submitted the proposed program, "The Square Peg Problem: Specialized Material in a Streamlined World" for the Toronto conference. Jared also reported on the proposed participants for the program. A budget of $700 was submitted, which is to include some funding for a non-librarian speaker.

It was suggested that we have a speaker "in reserve" at the conference, in case one of the speakers is unable to attend.

The focus of the program will include processing (acquisitions, cataloging, labeling), selection, preservation, shelving, outsourcing, and the promotion of collections. One of the speakers, a librarian, will address processing flows, including underlying assumptions and institutional mechanisms.
