Newsletter Committee Minutes
Jan. 14, 2001
Present: Sandra Levy (Chicago), Tatiana Barr (Florida), Jackie Byrd
(Indiana), Terri Miller (Michigan State), Patricia Thurston
(Yale)
The minutes of the July 2000 meeting were approved.
Sandra Levy identified new members (Marta Deyrup from Seton Hall and
Jean Dickinson from the University of Nebraska) and possible
assignments.
Sandra gave the fiscal report, saying that nothing had changed since
the Chicago conference. There is a surplus of approximately $2,000.
Although she had not heard from ALA yet, it is expected that there is
sufficient funding for the newsletter.
We need to be sure that the chairs of the other ACRL Newsletter =
Committees receive copies of the SEES newsletter.
The graphic for the next newsletter was approved.
Among the items to be included in the newsletter are:
- Pat Polansky's article on the University of Hawaii Slavic
collection
- Gordon Anderson's report on the Frankfort Book Fair
- A report on Marianna Tax Choldin's Pushkin Award
- A report from Janet Crayne on the Tallinn conference
- A report from Tatiana Barr on the Chicago program
- A report from Terri Miller on AAASS.
Submissions should be in WORD or WordPerfect. All materials must be
received by Terri Miller by Feb. 20th, since the printer needs them in
early April.
Terri Miller will become the Newsletter editor after this next issue is
published.
