Executive Committee Minutes
July 10, 2000
9:30 a.m.
Present: Patricia Thurston (Yale), Inna Gudanets (Stanford), Joanna Dyla
(Stanford), Cathy Zeljak (GWU), Marek Sroka (Illinois-UC), Misha
Buczkowski (Oregon), Grazyna Slanda (Harvard), Sandra Levy (Chicago),
Jackie Byrd (Indiana), Mary Lee Sweat (ACRL)
Minutes from January 2000 were approved.
Committee chairs reported on their meetings over the conference.
Buczkowski and Zeljak will work on an update of the SEES brochure.
Sweat noted that ACRL has a mentor program, maybe SEES could tie in with
it. Dyla said she would investigate.
Siegelbaum requested that SEES review its by-laws, Zeljak said they are on
file at ACRL. Buczkowski said he would write Melissa Cast and Alan
Pollard, Zeljak said she would post them on the SEES webpage.
Levy reported that 1) there is ACRL money to revise the SEES brochure and
2) ACRL appointment committees are looking for people; contact Melissa
Cast if interested.
Buczkowski suggested having the Executive Committee meeting at the same
time as the Membership meeting to save time.
Siegelbaum suggested planning an event with WESS, Miller as
Member-at-large could plan with them.
Sweat reported that the ACRL board approved a Statement on professional
development and a policy on scholarships.
Levy reported that other newsletter editors now receive the SEES
newsletter.
