Electronic Resources Committee
January 15, 2000
11:30 A.M.
Present: Patricia Thurston (Yale), Cathy Zeljak (GWU), Keith Westover
(BYU), Sandra Levy (Chicago), Teresa Tickle (MSU), Mischa Buczkowski
(Oregon), Beth Feinberg (UCLA)
Members: Zeljak, Levy, Brad Schaffner, Lena Siegelbaum, Tickle,
Buczkowski, Jared Ingersoll. Ingersoll has stepped down, Jackie Byrd may
be interested in participating.
All new members are welcome; there were no minutes from the last meeting
in New Orleans.
Zeljak sent the Committee charge to ACRL, and it was approved.
SEES homepage: Zeljak updated and re-formatted the webpage. The list of
officers was updated, and internet links have been added. Zeljak also
separated out consortia from individual library sites. ACRL will change
its pointer to www.gwu.edu/~sees
Zeljak asked the Committee if past minutes should be deleted from the
website, and if so, how long should they be kept on the site. Levy didn't
think we need to delete minutes; Zeljak will broach this issue with the
Executive Committee.
Zeljak asked for suggestions of new sites to add to the page and for
assistance to find and organize them on the SEES webpage. Lena Siegelbaum
has agreed to cover law. Tickle offered to contact Kay Sinnema and others
for suggestions. Tickle said that the Michigan State systems office could
check the links over time to make sure they aren't outdated.
Slavic Librarians Directory: Zeljak reported that Indiana has agreed to
house the Directory. The Committee agreed that it is interested in
participating, and would like to cooperate with AAASS on this project. The
Committee could help develop the form and collect information.
Zeljak was highly commended by the group for her efforts on the SEES
webpage. Zeljak said she will send a posting to Slavlibs to let
subscribers know the page is up.
Meeting adjourned at 12:00 P.M.
