Why GW?
The
George Washington University’s School of Business
offers a quality education in business and management. Our international
business, finance, and public administration fields are renowned, and
the School prides itself on offering students flexibility in their programs
of study.
The faculty in the School of Business is engaged in a wide variety of research activities at the school’s eight research centers, covering subjects from globalization to
strategic management, as well as accountancy, finance and management
science.
This is an exciting time for the School -- the new business school facility,
Duques Hall, a $50 million project that will be the
physical foundation for the School's future will be opening its doors
in January 2006. Located at the corner of 22nd and G Streets, the new
complex will bring all of the School's academic and research units under
one roof and will feature state-of-the-art technologies.
We also offer students the chance to meet and talk with management leaders. In the past year, the school hosted Pierre
Omidyar, the founder of eBay; Alan Greenspan, chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve; Abby Joseph Cohen, chief investment strategist for Goldman Sachs; Bill
Brodsky, chairman of the Chicago Board Options Exchange; and Arminio
Fraga, the head of Brazil’s central bank.
But one of the school's greatest advantages is its location at the center of it all in downtown Washington, D.C. Within blocks of campus are The White House, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, as well as the headquarters and offices of thousands of national and multi-national corporations, non-profits, and non-governmental organizations.
