Insights over the past 30 years from systems theory, cybernetics, chaos theory, etc., have produced in The Netherlands a new method of governance called dynamic self-organization (aka sociocracy). It supports our traditional democratic values of equality and respect for all in traditionally autocratic corporations and nonprofit organizations and schools by rewiring the fundamental power structure (including changes in corporate by-laws). It supports better communication and effective decision-making -- whether in large companies or small groups of volunteers. Dr. Gerard Endenburg, one of the key developers of the new method, will describe this "investor-manager-worker cooperative.”

Dr. Endenburg is a full professor in the business school at the University of Maastricht. He is a member of the Queen's Science Advisory Council. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Endenburg Electrotechniek, Inc., the original "management science laboratory" where dynamic self-governance was developed, and he is on the Board of Directors of the Sociocratisch Centrum, Inc., a Rotterdam-based consulting company.
