Study Abroad
Here at RGSLL, we believe that one of the best ways to learn a language is to spend time in countries where the language is spoken. GW is fortunate enough to have partnerships with international programs not only in Portugal, but also in Portuguese-speaking countries around the world.
Your first step is to contact the GW Study Abroad Office. Their staff coordinates programs in over 40 countries that allow more than 1,000 GW students the opportunity to go overseas each year.
After deciding on the program and courses you want, you need to be sure that those courses will transfer to the GW credits you need. To do this, you will need a Course Approval Form and the syllabi for the courses you wish to take. Take this information to Prof. Maria Byrnes . NOTE: You must receive approval for your courses BEFORE you go abroad. Also note that Prof. Byrnes does not teach over the summer. It is important that you make any appointments before the end of the spring semeseter, or instead wait until the start of the fall.
