University Incident Teams

Communications Group >>

The Communications Group (CG) is the incident management group responsible for monitoring all media outlets with the objective of gathering, sorting and disseminating relevant information to the University’s Leadership and Response Management Groups to assist in their decision making process.

The Communications Group is also responsible for arranging timely press conferences and developing press releases to communicate to The George Washington University community and the public at large the University’s position as developed in conjunction with the Leadership Group and Response Management Group. In addition the Communications Group is responsible for recommending, preparing and providing University Spokespeople when requested by University Leadership.

Communications Group messages are disseminated to the University community and the public at large though the Campus Advisories website, the GW Information Hotline, University Operations, Parent Services, Vice Presidents, the President and the Media.
