OBG Residency Program.
2007 - 2008 Application Information

Application Deadline

The Department of OBGYN at the George Washington University uses Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to process and review applications. The Program seeks applicants who demonstrate proven scholarship, a high level of preparedness, ability, and aptitude. Communication skills, integrity, compassion, courage, and stability are as important as an enthusiasm for patient-care, teaching and research. The Program does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

Intern Class of 2011

Candidates for OBG 1 positions are selected through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). The department uses ERAS applications to review candidates' eligibility. 2. have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. licensing jurisdiction.

All information which you wish the Selection Committee to review must be submitted through the ERASPost Office. If the OBG Program Office at GWU needs any supplementary material, we will contact you. The AAMC provides the opportunity for you to make changes or deletions, when necessary. You may make a change at any time during the process. Any new information you submit to ERAS overwrites the material previously submitted.

From our experience, a completed ERAS application is easy-to-read and presents an applicant's record in a succinct and revealing manner.

Although the timely submission of your completed application is encouraged we will continue to review applications through the deadline date, November 1, 2007. Shortly thereafter, we will E-MAIL the interview invitations for the Fridays, December 7 and 14, 2007 and Friday, January 11, 2008 interviews. The 3 interview dates are filled on a first-response-first-confirmed basis.

Our residents are selected through the National Resident Match Program (NRMP). Criteria for including applicants on the Rank Order List for the Match include USMLE scores, letters of recommendation, the Dean's letter, list of publications, and the personal interview. The NRMP will announce the 2008 Match results in March, 2008.

We very much appreciate your interest in the OBG residency training program at the GWU and wish you well.
