Research with Industry
GW encourages its researchers, as part of their efforts to generate new knowledge and enable its use for the betterment of society, to enter into collaborative partnerships with business and industry. Such relationships can provide additional funding for their research and can help them develop their inventions and other research discoveries to allow them to be converted into commercial products that benefit society.
Records Retention
The University requires that different types of business records be retained for specific periods of time. The University's Interim Record Retention Policy is designed to address the University's commitment to effective records retention to meet legal standards, protect privacy, improve the use of space, minimize the costs of record retention and provide for the proper destruction of outdated records.
Effort Reporting
Personnel costs represent the single largest category of expense charged to the federally sponsored awards. Accordingly, the government mandates that institutions receiving federal funds for sponsored programs maintain an effort certification process that complies with OMB Circular A-21 requirements.
