Competitions with Limited Proposal Submissions

  • Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research (U01)
    Deadline: June 5, 2007
    NOW CLOSED

This NIH competition is for a Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research (U01). The NICHD invites applications from investigators willing to participate under a cooperative agreement in an ongoing multi-center international research network designed to perform randomized clinical trials of interventions to reduce the major risks to maternal, neonatal, infant, and early childhood health in the resource-poor countries. The purpose of this solicitation is to complement the existing Global Network with the addition of Research Units from Africa and India. The objective of this program is to contribute to the resolution of maternal and pediatric health problems by establishing a network of Research Units (paired U.S.-based and foreign centers) that will use common protocols to implement randomized clinical trials and thus contribute to the evidence base for sound clinical, programmatic, and policy decisions.

There is a non-binding, non-mandatory letter of intent due on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, with proposal applications due on Friday, July 27, 2007. The proposal limitation is that only one (1) proposal per institution may be submitted.

  • NSF- CRIF: MU
    Deadline: April 13, 2007
    NOW CLOSED

The Chemistry Research Instrumentation and Facilities Program (CRIF) is structured to enable the National Science Foundation's Division of Chemistry to respond to a variety of needs for infrastructure--instrumentation and facilities--that promotes research and education in areas traditionally supported by the Division.

Approximately $6 million per fiscal year will fund approximately 20 awards as standard or continuing grants depending upon the quality of proposals and the availability of funds. Awards will have a three-year duration and are non-renewable. Award size is limited to $500,000 plus personnel costs for cyber-enabled projects.

Proposals are limited to two (2) per institution. If two are submitted, at least one proposal must involve cyberinfrastructure. Principal investigators are strongly encouraged to consult with the cognizant program officers before submitting cyber-enabled instrumentation requests.

  • NSF- Robert Noyce Scholarship Program 07-529
    Deadline: March 9, 2007
    NOW CLOSED

This award seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers. The program provides funds to institutions of higher education to support scholarships, stipends, and programs for students who commit to teaching in high-need K-12 school districts.

The proposal limitation is that only one (1) proposal per institution may be submitted. This includes proposals where the institution would be the lead or a partner applicant.
