Traveling for Sponsored Programs
Prior to taking a trip funded under a sponsored program, obtain approval from the appropriate RSC. This review is to assure that the trip is allowable: that there is funding available, that it is related to the purpose of the grant, that it occurs within the period of the award, and that the person traveling is associated in with the program. Independent Contractor is a person or business entity which provides goods or services to another organization or entity under terms specified in an agreement. Independent Contractors are not employees of the University and may not use GW resources to perform their services. Independent Contractors are ancillary to the actual research being performed under a sponsored project but are necessary to meet the overall objectives of GW's award from the prime sponsor.
