Academic Scheduling Office

In keeping with the University's academic mission "to provide students and faculty with the optimal environment for the creation, acquisition, and dissemination of knowledge," the Academic Scheduling Office coordinates the schedule of classes for the majority of the main campus and several off-campus schools and programs. In the fall and spring semester we house almost 4,000 courses in 160 general purpose classrooms. We work hard to place each and every course into a classroom that meets both pedagogical and technological needs so that every class can take full advantage of the rich resources GW has to offer.

Additionally, ASO contributes to the University's academic mission of providing an environment for the "pursuit of creative endeavors to meet the needs and enrich the experiences of the global society," by facilitating the use of general purpose classroom space by students, faculty, staff, and external organizations from the GW community. ASO works around the scheduled classes to allow GW and non-GW community members to reserve classroom space for meetings, lectures, and special events. Our classroom reservation operation plays a big role in facilitating extracurricular events for our students, thereby contributing to a well-rounded college experience.
